This is my first year in attending the Pennsylvania Spoutwood Fairie Festival and I must say I enjoyed the event. I had heard about the festival from a number of the Bubble Fairies that I have photographed at the Maryland Renaissance Festival and also by Shane Odom of Mythical Masks. This year I decided to drive to Glen Rock Pennsylvania to see what this festival was all about. As you might be able to guess, when I mentioned to a few friends that I planned to take my camera and go to the Fairie Festival, I got a little bit of grief and some comments about my choice in weekend entertainment. When asked what the festival was about before having gone, I likened it to a 2013 version of the Woodstock fest compete with flower children, hippies and tree huggers In retrospect, I was right; there was a community drum circle with lots of dancing where everyone was invited to join in drumming and providing the rhythm for anyone who wanted to dance and some terrific music venues like the band Cu Dubh.
